From First Howdy to ‘I Do’

Juan and kassy first met at their mixed-martial arts (mma) gym in September 2021, after kassy moved up to the advanced level class that Juan was in. It was love at first sight–well, not exactly. while Juan thought kassy was beautiful, he quickly realized she was very talkative and one day, in class, turned around slowly, leaned over to kassy, who was smitten over the idea that Juan was finally talking to her, and proceeded to shush her and tell her to stop talking because he could not hear the coach. Juan did not know it then, but he would spend the next few years loving and listening to kassy talk and talk and talk.

from late night poke bowl runs talking about life in the back of Juan's pickup truck, to the greatest first date in the history of first dates, to fight nights with friends where they pretended to not like each other (which absolutely no one bought), to camping trips, to falling undeniably and irrevocably in love, Juan and kassy knew god destined their souls to be together. and not because kassy is always right, but she knew within a couple months of dating that they were going to get married. though kassy played hard to get at first and was unsure of starting a new relationship at the start of law school, Juan proved time and time again that he was a reliable, honest, supportive man, and kassy soon realized she could neither imagine nor want a life without him in it. Juan and kassy know that with the help and love of Jesus, who models his perfect love for all, they too can grow and demonstrate patient, kind, selfless love for one another.
